Visit of President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa to the EMCDDA

His Excellency the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa will visit the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) on 10 July for an insight into the work of the agency and the latest trends and developments in the drug situation in Europe. This is the President’s first visit to the EMCDDA.

• Arrival of the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. Welcome by EMCDDA Director, Alexis Goosdeel (EMCDDA entrance).
• Meeting with the EMCDDA Director and Heads of unit (Director’s office, photo opportunity at the start of the meeting).
• Presentation by the EMCDDA Director of the agency’s work, the drug situation in Europe and the drug situation in Portugal in the European context. Q&A session (EMCDDA ‘Agora’ area).
• ‘Family’ picture with EMCDDA staff at the entrance (immediately after the presentation and Q&A session).
