Annual EMCDDA expert meeting on the problem drug use (PDU) indicator
The objectives of this year’s expert meeting on the Problem drug use (PDU) indicator were to consolidate the PDU network and core estimates, such as people who inject drugs and high-risk opioid use, to integrate the PDU indicator with other indicators in order to better address public health priorities, to explore new ways to complement traditional national estimates with other data sources and approaches and to identify capacity building needs. As a result of data sharing between the countries participating, a compilation of national abstracts was also made available online. In the framework of the IPA5 project, delegates from all candidate and potential candidate countries were also invited to participate. Those attending the meeting this year were Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina (with the presence of one expert from the Republika Srpska), Kosovo, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.
